11.9. Replacement of the forward bearing of a main shaft of the transmission

We perform work on a viewing ditch or the elevator.

We remove the transmission (see. "Removal of the transmission on the car with the engine UEPA-331"). It is more convenient to define a condition of the bearing at the removed transmission assembled with a coupling case (for example, when replacing knots of coupling). If only the box is dismantled it is transferred, and the case of coupling is not removed, it is possible to estimate a bearing condition, having made the elementary wooden mandrel with a diameter of 16 mm and 200 mm long. We bring a mandrel through a coupling case to a bearing opening. We hammer with easy blows of the hammer a mandrel into a bearing opening on depth of 10-12 mm.

Rotating and shaking a mandrel, we estimate a bearing condition (the case of coupling is for descriptive reasons removed).

At the normal state of the bearing its internal ring is turned rather external smoothly, without jammings and noise.

For replacement of the bearing we remove a case of coupling or the transmission assembled with a coupling case (see. "Replacement of a casing and the conducted clutch plate on the car with the VAZ-2106 engine").

For removal of the bearing it is possible to use a cup stripper. The bolt of M8 60-80 mm long is inserted by a head into an opening of an internal ring of the bearing so that it was hooked for a back edge of a ring. We wedge a bolt any core with a diameter of 7 mm (it is possible to use the bolt or a hairpin of M8 which are ground off or flattened to the size of 7 mm). We put on a stripper cup, a washer a bolt and nazhivlyay a nut.

... we press off the bearing in a cup.

The bearing can be removed and in a different way:

using a shock stripper with the hook hooked for an internal ring...

... we beat out the bearing.

By fine-grained skin it is smoothed out a landing surface under the bearing in an opening of a flange of a bent shaft.

We press the bearing a suitable piece of a pipe, leaning on an external ring of the bearing.

In the sequence, the return dismantling, we establish the dismantled details.
